The Digital Innovation Unit at the General Directorate of Information Technology held a joint meeting with the College of Engineering and Computer Science to explore avenues for collaboration in developing a joint initiative. This initiative aims to transform the real challenges facing the delivery of academic and administrative services and processes at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University into development opportunities. These opportunities will be presented as graduation projects for undergraduate students or as advanced research paths for graduate students. The initiative aims to:
• Enhance the practical aspect of the educational process and connect it to institutional realities.
• Stimulate innovation and adopt smart solutions to address existing challenges.
• Support the university's digital transformation efforts by leveraging the college's student and academic expertise.
Both parties agreed to conduct joint workshops to identify the challenges facing university units in the services and processes provided to beneficiaries, develop a unified model for documenting these challenges, and work to deepen the integration between academic work and digital innovation projects. This aligns with the university's direction towards developing an advanced digital environment and supporting the outputs of the College of Engineering and Computer Science in the field of university innovation.
