A delegation from Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, led by the Director General of Information Technology and accompanied by the Head of the Digital Innovation Unit and the unit’s team, visited the Innovation Center of the Digital Government Authority. The visit took place within the framework of strengthening mutual collaboration and exploring national enablers that support digital transformation and government innovation.
The visit aimed to enhance the role of the Digital Innovation Unit within the General Directorate of Information Technology by reviewing leading national experiences, exchanging expertise, and exploring future partnership opportunities that support the University’s direction toward developing a sustainable institutional innovation ecosystem.
During the meeting, the Innovation Center team presented key enablers and services offered to government entities, in addition to specialized labs and laboratories that contribute to the development of experimental digital solutions, accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, and improve service efficiency.
The visit included a field tour of several specialized labs, beginning with the Digital Inclusion Lab, where the delegation was introduced to initiatives designed to promote equitable access to digital services. The delegation also visited the Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies Lab, where they reviewed a range of prototypes and pilot applications in artificial intelligence and its advanced technologies.
The tour further included the Educational Experiments Lab, which showcased models for designing interactive digital learning environments, as well as the Immersive Solutions Lab, where applications of virtual and augmented reality in enhancing user experience were demonstrated.
Both parties emphasized the importance of establishing a forthcoming strategic partnership to develop joint innovative solutions and launch high-impact initiatives that strengthen digital transformation and enhance inter-agency integration, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in building an innovative and effective digital government.
This visit reflects the University’s ongoing efforts to advance institutional innovation and meet digital transformation standards by leveraging national enablers and activating collaborative models that deliver sustainable impact at the level of services and operations.
