Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, represented by the General Administration of Information Technology, organized today, Tuesday, the “Data Booths” event in conjunction with International Data Privacy Day, which is observed annually on January 28. The event was held in the lobby of Building (6) at the University’s Al‑Kharj campus.
The event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting personal data among the University’s academic and administrative staff, as well as students, in order to promote best practices in digital privacy, enhance cybersecurity awareness in the digital age, and encourage individuals to adopt proper measures to safeguard data from cyber threats.
The event featured a range of specialized booths, led by the “Data Governance” booth, which showcased the strategic framework and policies that ensure the quality and security of data to support legal compliance, risk management, and digital transformation. The “Personal Data Protection” booth provided awareness messages emphasizing shared responsibility in safeguarding privacy, educating attendees about their rights and the regulatory measures governing data sharing.
In the area of emerging technologies, the event included an “Artificial Intelligence” booth that highlighted the role of AI solutions in supporting decision‑making and presented the data lifecycle along with key opportunities and challenges associated with this rapidly evolving field. Student clubs—including the Data Science Club and the Artificial Intelligence Club—also participated by offering explanations on neural networks, machine learning, and the complementary relationship between artificial intelligence and data science.
The event reflects Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University’s commitment to fostering a secure digital culture and developing an informed campus environment that adopts best security practices in alignment with national efforts to enhance cybersecurity and protect information assets.
