Under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al‑Tamim, President of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, the activities of the “Data Forum” commenced today, Sunday, at the Al‑Kharj campus. The event is organized by the General Administration of Information Technology and aims to highlight the role of data in developing a modern and advanced university environment. The forum will run for three consecutive days.
The opening day featured a workshop titled “Personal Data Protection”, presented by Dr. Abdullah Al‑Saad. The session focused on enhancing awareness of data protection, explaining rights and responsibilities, and outlining best compliance practices. It also covered several key topics related to the Personal Data Protection Law and the responsibilities of institutions in managing personal data.
Another workshop was held under the title “Data Governance”, delivered by Dr. Abdulrahman Al‑Abd Al‑Jabbar. The session presented the National Data Management Office (NDMO) Framework, explored governance and management strategies, and clarified the roles and responsibilities of Data Management Offices within organizations.
The forum will continue tomorrow with a series of diverse specialized workshops.
This forum comes as part of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University’s efforts to strengthen data culture, improve administrative and academic process quality, and align with national directions toward digital transformation and building a knowledge‑based society supported by innovative technological solutions.
